Just walking around the city, you'll come across several places that have the good masks. However, one of my favorite places is near the foot of the Rialto Bridge. If you cross the bridge from the side closest to San Marco, there's a market that runs down the street. The mask shop is in the building on your right just after the bridge.
Another good shop, on the same side of the Grand Canal, is Mondonovo Maschere. They made the masks for the movie Eyes Wide Shut. You'll pass this on the way from Rialto to Accademia.
