How do I reshape feathers on a venetian mask?

I have a venetian or masquerade mask that has unfortunately had something heavy laid on top of the feathers by accident, causing the feathers to become out of shape - a couple of them are curved quite badly fairly low down on the feather at the thicker part of the 'stem' does anyone know how to reshape these? Will steaming work? I can't seem to find anything about restoration or reshaping feathers other than ones that are still attached to the birds!! Thanks. How do I reshape feathers on a venetian mask?
I would try steaming them, but not too close. and letting them relax and then shape and cool them
