If you are going to build a mold on your face to make a master to build the mask, DON'T USE PLASTER!! Plaster of Paris and similar products. These are damaging to the skin and get hot while setting and it shinks making the experience extremely panic forming. The proper stuff to use is alginate which a gel that is heated to liquid and cools in place. Unfortunately, your chances of finding it locally are small unless you have a theatrical supply place in town.

Actually, latex masks can be built on the face if you take care of eyebrow hair are not going to take forever to build the basic mask. I used to build prostheses for stage work. A hair drier on low to speed drying and constant conversation with the person if not yourself will keep things comfortable. Build one on part of your face first to see how thick you need to make it.
